Along with “What is it?”, I’m often asked, “What does it do?”
The answer’s simple …. I haven’t a Scooby! All I know is that it looks cool.
OK, so as an ex science teacher that’s not strictly true, but trying to explain that it’s basically an electrical circuit used to measure an unknown electrical resistance by balancing two legs of a bridge circuit, one leg of which includes the unknown component, and that the primary benefit of the circuit is its ability to provide extremely accurate measurements (in contrast with something like a simple voltage divider), isn’t something I relish going through every time! – It’s a lot easier to play dumb!
So, here we have a very pretty Wheatstone Bridge, made by the Phillip Harris company and it looks good 🙂
